As Engineering Manager / Tech Lead, you will play a critical role in defining and driving the technical direction of the company. Beyond managing our engineering team of Ruby on Rails Software Engineers, you’ll serve as a strategic partner to the Product team and other stakeholders, balancing hands-on technical work with high-level decision-making.

You’ll be responsible for scaling the team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and ensuring that our technical solutions meet the evolving needs of the business. This includes being a key decision-maker in Build vs. Buy strategies and ensuring the PMS remains at the forefront of industry technology.

Technology Vision

• Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to ensure Colonies remains technologically competitive.
• Provide expert guidance on Build vs. Buy decisions, balancing internal development with third-party tool integration.
• Collaborate with the Product to align technical decisions with the broader roadmap and business priorities.
• Ensure the evolution of our robust tech stack, which today includes Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Heroku and Storyblok.

Strategic Thinking

• Define and execute the technical strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance scalability, maintainability, and performance of our tech stack and processes.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5 Ruby on Rails engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
